Satué and Carlos Frías met in 1989, when the latter became
a student of the former. After long talks on the compositional phenomenon
and the calculations devised for the purpose, the idea as well as the necessity
of transferring the calculations to a computer takes shape. At first with
small specific programmes designed specifically for each work. With the
passing of time and once the method was consolidated they started to transfer
not only calculations but the method itself with ever more complex programmes
in which ‘the work table’ is virtually seen. 15 years have gone
by and the quest has not yet finished (nor do we think it ever will be finished).
Today there exits a platform of programmes with which the general outline
of the composition and even the smallest details can be worked out. The
quest is continuous and new applications are added whenever, after long
and passionate discussions, a new tool seems to take shape.
